About Satellite Broadband

Satellite broadband is a great option for those reside in the areas where dial-up, DSL (digital subscriber line) or cable service not available or locations which move frequently. Satellite broadband is high speed satellite Internet allows you to surf the web, download movies and music at much faster speeds than dial up. Satellite broadband is technology where it linked to a dish network subscriber service and provides speeds similar to other broadband technologies. Satellite broadband can deliver speeds of up to 2 megabits per second (mbps) downstream, and 1 mbps upstream. Compare this to dial-up service that tops out at about 53 kilobits per second. That's about 39 times slower than satellite broadband.

Choosing Right Satellite Broadband Connection

If you are interested in Satellite Broadband, or if you live in a very rural area and this is your only alternative, then you need to be aware of the different things that you are going to think about prior to getting any one Satellite Broadband service. Before processing applications for acquiring Satellite Broadband, make sure to learn more about satellite broadband, take some time and do some research on your own, so that you can find out as much information as you can, and so that you will be able to make a better choice for you and for your particular situation and requirement. Also check that your computer and premises meet our minimum system and building requirements.
Satellite Broadband Internet Equipments

When you purchase your satellite internet system it will come with a number of components. These components will be separated into two groups, outside components and inside components. A certified satellite technician will need to install both sets of satellite components for you. This is an FCC law. Two way satellite installations is simply not a do-it-yourself project.

The outside broadband internet satellite dish components include the satellite dish, a satellite mount, a feed horn and a feed line. The size of your dish and the mount are going to depend on the service package you select and where your home or office is located.

The inside broadband internet satellite dish components will include a coaxial cable jack, coaxial cables, grounding hardware and a modem. If you want the technician to take special cosmetic steps to hide your cables or to route them in a special way, or if your installation is going to be more difficult than the average installation because of the size, shape or layout of your home, then you will be charged extra. Any special services that you will need have to be discussed prior to your technician starting any work.

There are two types of transmitters, the One-way and the Two Way. We highly suggest installing a 2-way Satellite Internet service. What that means is, unlike the one way, which feeds the outgoing signal through a telephone landline and then to your providers Server, then to the Satellite, back to your home PC. The 2-way Satellite directly transmits the signal to the Satellite and directly back to your home. With the properly installed equipment, it is as simple as click and go. This device will provide you with the most direct and fastest way to obtain access to the Internet. The 2-way satellite system is an upgrade compared to the 1-way in costs; however, you are receiving a direct signal, which is well worth the speed and resolution.
